Lucifer has the date on his calendar and he is in his workshop working on something when he gets the text. He pulls out his phone and smiles wide.

Hello yourself, handsome. Of course. I was thinking about you just now, you know.

Macaque sends a map pin that leads over to Solarpeak. He's already there, waiting, wearing an outfit that's very like Lucifer's regular suit, although in much darker colors that suit him better.

Lucifer puts his gift in the stained wooden box he build for it. Then he wraps it in the dark purple fabric and packs it away in a bag. Then he gets changed into his own new suit. He arrives in Solarpeak in no time thanks to teleportation. He walks around the corner, strutting in his suit and grins seeing Macaque in his.

"Now aren't you a beautiful sight on a beautiful day? Hmm. You wear it very well."

He stops to give Lucifer a quick kiss. "And you're always a sight, my love."

Macaque takes Lucifer's arm and walks them around the corner to... a duck cafe. Like a cat cafe but for Lucifer specifically.

"I might have paid for this to be a pop-up store for just the two of us. Happy anniversary."

Lucifer kisses back and leans into Macaque as they walk arm in arm, his bad dangling from his other one. Then he sees the duck cafe and lets out the most adorable high pitched Jeremy Jordan tm squeal ever.

"AAAAAH! Macaque?! This must have...how much...no! No. I don't care. Happy anniversary!" He hugs Macaque tight and gives him a long kiss. Then he drags him into the cafe, brimming with excitement.

"Let me see the ducks!"

Macaque winces just slightly at the high pitched squeal, but he was more or less ready for that. He takes Lucifer into his arms and enjoys every moment of that kiss, then allows himself to be dragged into the duck cafe.

"Money is no object when it comes to special occasions." As they walk in, about half a dozen ducks waddle up to them, of all different colors. The decor is all ducks, as expected, and an employee wearing a duck-themed outfit walks up and offers to show them to their table.

There is only one table, right in the center of everything. The server hands them both menus, everything on there is apple themed (with some mangos added in there for Macaque). "So how do you think I did with my gift?"

(Ducks start converging on Macaque because this is the story with him and animals, he pets them and allows them to waddle all over him.)

Lucifer is thrilled with everything in front of him. He sits at the table and looks at all of the delicious apple and mango themed food. Lucifer is sure this took so much planning and funds and yet Macaque is smooth as silk about it all. He smiles wide and touches Macaque's hand.

"You've outdone yourself, love. Completely. I love everything about this," Lucifer looks down at the ducks. He holds out his hand to let them be curious of him too. He chuckles and pets them as they waddle over, their little feathered tails wagging.

"They are so happy~ Awww."

Macaque motions the server back over and be brings them some duck food and bread to feed the little ones with.

"I thought it seemed up your alley. And that smile makes all the planning worth it." Macaque strokes the feathers of a few of the ducks that have come over to say hello.

"You've made this a truly wonderful year for me. Consider this repaying the favor just a little bit."

Lucifer takes the duck food and gently sprinkles it around them so the ducks happily chow down with happy excited quacks.

"You know me so well. Love, you've made the last year of my life utterly magical. I should also be repaying you. Which...speaking of..."

Lucifer pulls out the wooden box and sets it on the table. It has been carved with a duck and monkey on the top, surrounded by a circle with the moon phases carved into the circle.

"I made you something," he says sheepishly. Inside is a beautiful purple and gold swirled jewel. Touching it, purple and gold projections of Macaque and Lucifer appear, made of colored light. They dance together, copying their first dance perfectly as soft music plays from the jewel. Then the two kiss and disappear back into the jewel.

"I hope you like it."

"The only way that I need to be repaid is with your time and affection, both of which you've always been generous with." And Macaque loves soaking up both.

He opens the package and smiles upon seeing the jewel, and of course touches it to watch the charming display of them dancing. He smiles at Lucifer as he admires it.

"It's gorgeous, love. I'll keep it close always. And what a wonderful reminder of the first time we met."

Lucifer's eyes light up as Macaque takes in the gift. He reaches out to entwine their fingers together after the dance ends. He squeezes his mate's hand before he brings it up to kiss the knuckles.

"Hmm. Then today, all of my time and affection are yours, my love. Today is all about us."

Macaque gives Lucifer a soft smile as he kisses Macaque's knuckles. He squeezes that hand just slightly.

"I'll make the most of both, I hope." He crumbles up some bread and feeds it to the ducks. "Shall we order some drinks?"

"Oh I am sure you will. Yes, let's." Lucifer looks at the menu and orders the apple lie latte to start.

"Which mango drink are you getting, love? Or will you join me with the apple?"

"A mixture, I think." Macaque orders an apple-mango smoothie. "Wash got me hooked on these things."

He tears off some small pieces of bread to feed the ducks who are congregating all around them. When the drinks come, they have tiny rubber ducks floating in them.

"Oh that sounds so good. I'll have one of those with our food," Lucifer says. He helps tear off more bread and gives the ducks a treat.

"Oooooh these are so cute. You really thought of everything. My beautiful creative mate."

"I wanted it to be special for you." And clearly it's working. Macaque is delighted.

"You deserve a date that's entirely focused around you. Which is why we have theater reservations after this. It's a musical about animals, and I've been told that there are ducks here who feature prominently."

"I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, this is already special for me. And you've already planned for it to be even more special. Truly you are a romantic force to be reckoned with," Lucifer says with a bright sharp smile.

"Our next date, I get to do the same for you. It is only fair."
